I love this poem I received years ago and today I went to research it to be sure it was authored by the person who was shown on the email I received long ago. I feel like I've been quoting parts of this one for years. However, what I found on Snopes was that, in fact, it was not authored by Maya Angelou, but by a author who published this article in Glamour magazine in 1997! Her name is Pamela Redmond Satran. Amazing that these things happen. Anyway, the article was basically "things a women should have and know ..." Here are few of my favorite lines:
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...enough money within her control to move outand rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...where to go...be it to her best friend's kitchen table...or a charming inn in the woods...when her soul needs soothing..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...what she can and can't accomplish in a day...a month...and a year...
