The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here is a great Chocolate Chip cookie recipe that works terrific in higher altitudes (I'm in Salt Lake City area and we're at about 5000 ft.).

Sift together in a small bowl, set aside:
2 1/2 c. flour
1 t. salt
1 t. soda
Mix these ingredients separately in med. bowl w/ mixer:
1 c. butter flavored Crisco
1 scant cup brown sugar (a little less than=scant)
1/2 c white sugar
Mix these three until smooth/creamy, then add:
2 eggs and 1 t. vanilla, mix until blended (don't overmix)

Then add about 1/3 of flour mixture, until blended. Add another 1/3, mix. Add final 1/3, mix. Then remove mixer and add 1- 1/12 c choc. chips by hand with a spoon or spatula. Add nuts if desired.
Bake at 375 for 9-10 min or if chilled, bake 11 minutes.
Enjoy!!
