Ear holes too big?

Maybe you suffer from this annoying problem or maybe you know someone who does? I personally have had a issue with my earrings always looking lopsided and I'm so tired of it! I've talked to many professionals about correcting this through surgery, but most really have discouraged me from it. There are many different reasons why this has happened for different women, I can only guess why mine did this, only in one ear. Here are some of the things I think it could have been:

  • It may be that the original earring hole was too low on that ear and over time, it has streched a little more and now it's almost off the bottom of my ear lobe!

  • or it's the side of my head I have my telephone resting on most generally, and has had more wear and tear from that over the years

  • or I wore some seriously heavy earrings in the 80's and it's catching up with me now!

Anyway, I've finally found a product called Ear Lift which actually helps! You can find it on the web and you might even see a TV ad from time to time. A friend turned me onto it (sorry, I can't even remember who now-maybe someone will remind me here in a comment) and I suspicous that it might not work at first, but thought I might give it a try about 8 mo's ago. After all, I really WANT to wear earrings and I felt that I was going to have to stick to posts for the next 50 years which is fine, but again, I'd like to be able wear some fun hoops or dangly earrings when I go out!

The concept is simple; the product is basically a little piece of round tape; very sticky tape. It's clear and one side come stuck to a plastic sheet which you can peel it from easily. Then you place the tape on the back side of your ear lobe over your hole. Then you place your earring through your ear hole and it continues on through the tape. The tape is quite strong and as long as your earrings aren't too heavy, the tape holds them in place. I find that, while it's not a perfect solution (you have to replace them daily), I really like that now I do have a option! I use them once or twice a week and when I go out at night and want to wear something other than posts.

If anyone else has a solution for this problem, please share!
